AASP Community Outreach Grant

About this program

The Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP) offers Community Outreach Grants to fund one-year community outreach projects that apply evidence-based sport, exercise, or performance psychology to support local initiatives and build community capacity; awards range from $250–$5,000 and are paid to the applicant’s department or organization. Priority is given to current CMPCs and applicants working toward certification, and projects must demonstrate systematic, sustained implementation (research-focused or development-phase projects are ineligible); supervised direct/indirect contact hours may count toward CMPC requirements when overseen by a current CMPC. Applicants must have maintained continuous AASP membership for at least three years (students may co-author with a qualifying member), projects must be implemented or mentored by an AASP member, and primary recipients may receive funding only once every three years. Applications are submitted online via Cadmium (effective 2026 cycle) with specified abstract/proposal/vitae/letters/budget limits and IRB materials if applicable; grants begin July 1 for a one-year period and unspent balances revert to AASP unless an approved extension is granted.
