Advancement in Equine Research Award (Equine Research Awards)

About this program

Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health offers five annual Advancement in Equine Research Awards of $15,000 each to support research that advances the diagnosis, treatment, and understanding of equine infectious diseases. Eligible applicants include veterinarians, diagnosticians, public and private researchers, animal scientists and equine practitioners based in the United States, Canada or Mexico, with veterinary residents and DVM/VMD graduate students given preferential consideration for two of the five grants. Proposals must generate new information directly relevant to equine infectious disease, comply with the Review Board's submission format, include a start date and a completion timeline (maximum 12 months from funding), and target an oral presentation at a professional venue (e.g., AAEP or ACVIM); submissions are peer-reviewed by an independent board and the 2026 deadline is to be announced.
