AIPS Conference Travel Grants

About this program

AIPS (Association for India and Pakistan Studies) offers Conference Travel Grants of up to $500 to support travel for presenting papers or organizing panels on topics relevant to Pakistan Studies; awards are competitively reviewed and funded for U.S. citizens via the U.S. Department of State (ECA) through CAORC, while non‑U.S. citizen awards come from AIPS discretionary funds as available. Applicants must be AIPS Individual Members with written proof of paper/panel acceptance and must be presenting at an invited conference or organizing a panel (invited single lectures are ineligible); applications must be for future travel. International travel to Pakistan is limited to post‑doctoral U.S. citizens for Islamabad and Lahore only, all travel is subject to U.S. State Department security restrictions, applicants are limited to one award per year, and preference is given to those who have not received a travel grant in the past two years. Applications are reviewed quarterly (deadlines: Dec 15, Mar 15, Jun 15, Sep 15 — Sep 15 applies to the Annual Conference on South Asia); submit the online form, abstract, CV, evidence of acceptance and (for students) a faculty support letter, and email aips@pakistanstudies‑aips.org to confirm funding availability and request the application form.
