Alfred M. Landon Historical Research Grant

About this program

The Kansas Historical Foundation, in partnership with the Kansas Historical Society, offers the annual Alfred M. Landon Historical Research Grant — a $1,000 award to help defray expenses for research using the Society’s State Archives, Kansas Museum of History, or both. Applications are due April 15 for grants awarded each summer to fund research conducted in the following fiscal year (beginning July 1). Applicants must plan to spend a minimum of two weeks on-site, are encouraged to consult Historical Society staff (and to visit holdings if unfamiliar), and should propose projects that make substantial use of the Society’s collections and promise wide dissemination. Submit a completed application electronically or by mail to the Kansas Historical Foundation; awards are disbursed 50% at project start and 50% upon receipt of a final report and one copy of the finished research product.
