Alice Wilson Award — for three women entering postdoctoral scholarship/research

About this program

The Royal Society of Canada annually awards the Alice Wilson Award to three women of outstanding academic qualifications in the Arts & Humanities, Social Sciences, or Science who are entering a postdoctoral career, each receiving a diploma and $1,000. Candidates are drawn from that year’s female winners of postdoctoral fellowships from CIHR, NSERC, and SSHRC, so no separate application is required. Selection emphasizes scholarly originality, impact and expertise with equity, diversity and inclusion considerations, and the primary criterion is demonstrated excellence as the candidate enters a postdoctoral career. Ties in ranking are resolved by the number of first‑place votes.
