Alkermes Pathways Research Awards — Early-Career Neuroscience Research Grants (Schizophrenia & Bipolar I Disorder)

About this program

Alkermes offers the Pathways Research Awards, funding individual early-career investigators up to $100,000 for preclinical, clinical, translational, epidemiological and outcomes research focused on schizophrenia or bipolar I disorder, with a 2025 emphasis on sleep and circadian disturbances. Projects may address treatment, patient-centered outcomes, health economics using real-world data, and continuity of care via telehealth or other technologies, and must be completable within two years. Applicants must hold an M.D., Ph.D. or equivalent, be affiliated with a U.S. medical or research center, be within five years of their initial academic appointment or be a current postdoctoral fellow, have a mentor experienced in schizophrenia/bipolar/sleep medicine, must not have a DP2 or NIH R01 at the time of award (K awards allowed), and be able to accept funding from a for‑profit biopharmaceutical company; U.S. citizens, permanent residents or non‑immigrant visa holders valid for the grant period are eligible. The current application period is closed; awardees for the eighth annual cycle will be announced in the second half of 2026.
