ANA IDEAS Early Career Member Award

About this program

The American Neurological Association (ANA) offers the IDEAS Early Career Member Award to support up to three outstanding early-career physician-scientists and researchers who are committed to addressing health-related disparities through outreach, mentoring, leadership, research, program-building, or educational scholarship. The June 2026–October 2028 program provides mentor matching with an ANA member leader, presentation and progress-update opportunities at ANA annual meetings (2026–2028), engagement with ANA governance, a $1,000 professional development stipend (paid January 2027), complimentary meeting registrations, up to $1,500 travel reimbursement for ANA2026 and ANA2027, and a commemorative plaque. Eligible applicants are ANA members in good standing in the Associate (trainee, resident, postdoc) or Fellow Member (assistant professor, instructor) categories; applications require a CV, a nomination statement (≤300 words), a proposed professional development plan (≤200 words), and a letter of recommendation from a chair, division, or residency director.
