Angelina Messina Grant (AMG) — TMS student and early career research support

About this program

The Micropalaeontological Society (TMS) awards annual Angelina Messina Grants (AMGs) of up to £500 to help student members and early career researchers (within 10 years of their last degree) fund unbudgeted fieldwork, conference attendance or other specific research-related activities. Applicants must be TMS members, apply via the specified form by 28 February, and justify why additional funding beyond existing resources is required; successful awardees must provide a short report for the TMS Newsletter. Proposals are assessed on completeness and adherence to terms, relevance to micropalaeontology, benefit to the applicant’s career or research, and a realistic budget, and from 2024 TMS is trialling a priority lottery scheme to increase fairness and diversity.
