About this program
The Asia Pacific American Religions Research Initiative (APARRI) offers research grants of up to $25,000 for full-time faculty and lecturers and $10,000 for graduate students, independent and postdoctoral scholars, and part-time faculty to advance scholarly and public knowledge of AAPI religions. For 2026–27, priority will be given to projects examining AAPI religions and democracy or AAPI faith and life, with support available for projects at any stage and scholarly outputs including books, articles, dissertations, and digital resources. Applicants must hold a graduate degree or be enrolled as graduate students, propose research focused on AAPI religions, and be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Applications require a proposal, CV, writing sample, budget, and other materials as applicable; awardees must attend the 2028 APARRI conference, with applications due December 15, 2026.
