Applied Social Issues Internship Award

About this program

The Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues (SPSSI) offers the Applied Social Issues Internship Award to support research conducted in partnership with community or government organizations, public interest groups, or other nonprofit entities. Awards range from $300 to $2,500 for research expenses, community organizing, and, in exceptional cases, an intern stipend. Eligible applicants include undergraduate seniors, graduate students, and first-year postdoctoral researchers in psychology, applied social science, or related fields, and applicants must be SPSSI members. Applications require a 3–6-page proposal and budget, resume, faculty sponsor letter, and organizational sponsor letter; submissions are due annually by March 15.
