APTA Acute Care Research Grant (seed grant)

About this program

APTA Acute Care is offering a Research Grant of up to $5,000 to provide seed funding for studies related to acute care physical therapy, supporting direct study costs such as data collection, statistical analysis, consulting, subject compensation, equipment, and publication (funds may not be used for indirect costs or travel). Eligible applicants must be APTA Acute Care members in good standing (clinicians, graduate students, or faculty), and graduate student members may apply toward thesis or dissertation expenses. Applications must be submitted via the online form between June 1 and August 31 (11:00 p.m. ET), follow the prescribed proposal format with required appendices, and award funds will only be released after IRB approval or an institutional exemption is provided. Awards are selected by the APTA Acute Care Research Committee using NIH-style review criteria, recipients are notified by September 30, and awardees must submit a one-page progress summary at 12 months and a manuscript/report for journal submission upon completion.
