ASP Conservationist Award

About this program

The American Society of Primatologists (ASP) offers the Conservationist Award, a $1,500 prize recognizing and supporting students and early-career investigators from primate-habitat countries who demonstrate potential for sustained contributions to primate conservation; past awards have been presented by U.S. Ambassadors or other senior officials, generating publicity for recipients. Eligible applicants are students, researchers, and educators from primate-habitat countries within five years of receipt of their terminal degree and must be ASP members. Nominations are submitted by email to the ASP Conservation Committee chair and must include the nominee’s name, title and mailing address, a statement of qualifications focused on conservation contributions, the nominee’s CV, and up to two supporting letters; the Committee recommends awardees to the ASP Board at the annual meeting and successful nominees are announced afterward.
