Australian Pain Society Travel Grants for Annual Scientific Meeting

About this program

The Australian Pain Society (APS) offers Travel Grants to APS members to support travel to present oral or poster research at its Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM), typically providing up to AUD $500 for full‑time PhD students (including dedicated $500 grants for Pain in Childhood and Basic Pain Research SIG members) and, subject to available funds, smaller grants (around AUD $250) for nurses, allied health professionals and other post‑graduate students. Applicants must be current APS members with an accepted abstract, be Australian citizens, permanent residents or hold a valid student visa, be based in Australia and reside outside the metropolitan area of the conference city, and only one author per abstract (the major contributor) may apply. Applicants must indicate an Expression of Interest during abstract submission and submit a completed Travel Grant application form to the APS Secretariat by 5:00 pm on 30 November each year; awards are at the discretion of the Scientific Program Committee. Grants are paid by EFT to individual applicants only after attendance and presentation at the ASM (non‑attendance or non‑presentation forfeits the award), and the APS Board may suspend or withdraw the program if the ASM is cancelled or converted to hybrid/virtual formats.
