Award of Merit in Retina Research (presented with the Charles L. Schepens Lecture)

About this program

Retina Research Foundation funds the Award of Merit in Retina Research (established 1978) to recognize outstanding vision scientists whose work advances understanding of the retina and retinal diseases; the award provides $50,000 total ($5,000 honorarium + $45,000 research grant) and includes invitation to deliver the Charles L. Schepens Lecture at The Retina Society annual meeting. Eligible candidates are vision scientists whose work represents either a single outstanding achievement or a potentially significant contribution to knowledge of the retina, its role in vision, or vitreoretinal diseases. The recipient is selected by The Retina Society Awards Committee and the award is funded through endowed gifts to the Retina Research Foundation.
