Awards for Advancing Minority Mental Health

About this program

The American Psychiatric Association Foundation offers Awards for Advancing Minority Mental Health to recognize organizations and programs that improve mental health awareness, access, and quality of care for underserved minority communities. Recipients receive $5,000, a plaque, and recognition through APA/APAF publications, websites, and an event at the APA Annual Meeting. Eligible applicants include mental health and wellness organizations and programs that have operated for at least two years and address minority mental health needs, including cultural barriers to treatment. Applications are accepted November 1 through January 31; previous recipients are ineligible unless applying for a new initiative, achievement, or program.
