AWIS Distinguished Doctoral Research Scholarship

Association for Women in Science (AWIS) offers the Distinguished Doctoral Research Scholarship, a $10,000 award to support dissertation research by pre‑doctoral students in life sciences, physical sciences, behavioral sciences, mathematics, or engineering whose work is judged likely to make important and original contributions. Applicants must be AWIS members and expect to graduate within two years of the application deadline. Required materials include a 500–1,500‑word professional goals essay addressing background, career goals and impact, a 500‑word research synopsis, CV/resume, two recommendation questionnaires (one from a current advisor or equivalent and one from a past professor/employer/colleague), an unofficial transcript, and a statement of intended use of funds.
