AWS Cloud Credit for Research Program

About this program

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Public Sector Cloud Credit for Research provides AWS Promotional Credit to support academic projects that build cloud-hosted, publicly available science-as-a-service tools, perform proofs-of-concept or benchmarks for migrating research workloads or open datasets to the cloud, or train communities via workshops and tutorials. Awards are issued year-round on a rolling basis (typical review 90–120 days); credits apply to AWS services (EC2 usage supported for on‑demand and spot instances), are valid for one year or until exhausted, student awards are capped at $5,000 while faculty and staff awards are uncapped. Eligible applicants are full‑time faculty, full‑time research staff, and graduate/post‑graduate/PhD students at accredited research institutions. AWS evaluates proposals and communicates decisions via aws-research-credit@amazon.com.
