Bachmann-Strauss Early Career Award in Dystonia Research

The Michael J. Fox Foundation, with partners Bonnie and Tom Strauss, offers the Bachmann‑Strauss Award in Dystonia Research (launched 2025) to grow the field’s understanding of causes and contributors to dystonia and accelerate development of new treatments. The award provides a two‑year grant totaling $150,000 to support early‑career clinician‑researchers conducting dystonia‑focused studies, including dystonia as a symptom of Parkinson’s disease. Eligible applicants are early‑career clinician‑researchers proposing projects in dystonia and a plan to support a research fellow (a current fellow or a prospective hire) within a host laboratory. Competitive proposals should demonstrate strong mentorship, institutional support, and a research plan that advances circuit- or systems‑level understanding of dystonia.
