BACR Student Impact Award

About this program

The British Association for Cancer Research (BACR) offers the Student Impact Award, a £250 prize and certificate recognizing a well-rounded PhD student member who demonstrates research achievement alongside significant citizenship activities. Eligible applicants must be BACR-registered PhD students with at least one year of BACR membership and should document citizenship contributions (e.g., science communication/public engagement, student-led activity development, peer mentoring, supervising Honours/Masters students, committee membership) in either a 1,000-word narrative, a visual abstract, or a video, accompanied by a brief description of their research. Applications are submitted to bacr@leeds.ac.uk by 31 March; a panel convened by the BACR Executive Committee will decide outcomes and notify applicants within three months. The successful student is expected to produce a blog post and/or a video for the BACR website within one month of receiving the award.
