Baldwin Fellowship

About this program

The Leakey Foundation’s Baldwin Fellowship supports graduate education and advanced training in human origins, human evolution, paleoanthropology, and primatology, offering up to $15,000 annually for a maximum of two years. Funds may cover tuition, travel, living expenses, fees, insurance, books, and other educational costs, but not family support, salary, or institutional overhead. Applicants must be citizens of countries with limited opportunities for advanced training, be accepted to or enrolled in a master’s, PhD, or equivalent program, and have both home and host sponsors. Fellows are expected to return and contribute to their home country; applications are due February 15 for new applicants and March 1 for returning applicants.
