About this program

Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) provides annual seed funding for innovative clinical and translational breast cancer research, typically awarding up to $250,000 per year with indirect costs capped at 20%; grants are generally one-year awards covering October 1–September 30. Funding is by invitation from BCRF’s Scientific Advisory Board (unsolicited requests are discouraged), with invitations issued in late spring, review in summer, decisions in August, and public announcements on October 1; awards are paid in two installments (early October and early March). Invited applicants must submit a brief project narrative, a lay summary suitable for public use, an annual budget and budget narrative. Grantees are required to submit an annual progress report and a final financial report, and invited awards may be renewed based on satisfactory progress and fit within BCRF’s portfolio.
