Blavatnik Awards for Young Scientists

About this program

The Blavatnik Awards for Young Scientists, funded by the Blavatnik Family Foundation and administered by The New York Academy of Sciences, provide substantial unrestricted prizes to recognize exceptional early-career scientists and engineers whose research shows high quality, novelty, and societal impact. Awards are given in three disciplinary categories—Chemical Sciences; Physical Sciences & Engineering; and Life Sciences—and are administered across four programs (US Regional, US National, United Kingdom, and Israel), with over $20 million awarded to date. Applicants must be early-career researchers age 42 or younger and are evaluated primarily on the quality, novelty, impact of their work and their potential for further significant contributions.
