About this program
Brain Research Foundation (BRF) Seed Grant Program, established in 1981, awards $80,000 over two years to provide start‑up funding for new, innovative neuroscience research across cognitive, developmental, neurodegenerative and other brain‑related areas. The 2026 Letter of Intent round opens August 28, 2025. Eligibility is restricted to institutions that have received a direct invitation from BRF to nominate one faculty member; nominated Principal Investigators must be full‑time assistant or associate professors working in the field of neuroscience. Applicants should consult BRF’s guidelines and institutional eligibility details before preparing a submission.
