Bridge Funding for Fellows (CBCRP)

About this program

The California Breast Cancer Research Program (CBCRP) is offering Bridge Funding and Predoctoral and Postdoctoral Fellowships to support trainees pursuing breast cancer research in response to gaps from recent federal reprioritizations. Awards include Bridge Funding ($25,000 direct costs for up to 1 year), Predoctoral Fellowships (up to $60,000 stipend plus partial tuition and allowance annually for up to 2 years), and Postdoctoral Fellowships (up to $70,000 stipend/salary plus institutional allowance annually for up to 2 years). Eligible applicants must be enrolled in a doctoral program at a California institution (terminal master’s allowed for Bridge) or hold a postdoctoral fellow position at a California institution, and must propose a project addressing breast cancer within CBCRP’s priority areas. Letters of intent and applications must be submitted through the SmartSimple portal by the program deadline (SmartSimple opens Sept 1); applicants from underrepresented groups and those working on environmental contributors, health disparities, or population-level prevention are encouraged to apply.
