About this program

The AASM Foundation, in partnership with the Sleep Research Society Foundation and the Restless Legs Syndrome Foundation, offers a suite of funding mechanisms to support sleep and circadian research across career stages, including bridge funding, seed and mentored project grants, investigator-initiated strategic awards, and a mentor recognition award. Programs include Bridge to Success grants for early-career and mid/senior investigators to provide interim support during grant revision or reapplication; Focused Projects and Small Research Grants to seed mentored junior-investigator studies; a Physician-Scientist Training Grant for post-clinical-training mentored research; a Rising Investigator Supplement to support trainees facing access barriers; and a co-funded RLS research grant for basic and clinical RLS studies. Eligibility varies by award but generally targets early- to mid-career and established investigators, mentored junior investigators and trainees, physician-scientists completing clinical training, investigators with an active research program for supplements, and projects aligned with AASM-identified priorities or RLS-focused research.
