BSA Support Fund

About this program

The British Sociological Association’s BSA Support Fund offers one-off awards of up to £1,000 to concessionary-category BSA members in the UK to support research-related expenses, conference and study-group attendance, and thesis production. Applicants must be UK residents in a concessionary category (Early Career Researcher, full‑time student, unwaged, teacher, or retired) who have held continuous BSA membership for at least 12 months and are limited to a single claim. The fund excludes course fees, books, equipment, membership fees and electronic journal subscriptions; a portion of the budget is reserved for free BSA Annual Conference registration (recipients of free registration may still apply for travel/accommodation support), and applications are submitted by completing a downloadable Word form and emailing it to the BSA office.
