About this program

British Society for Geomorphology (BSG) offers Postgraduate Research Grants of up to £2,000 to contribute to specific research costs (e.g., travel, consumables, field visits, purchase of data or equipment) intended to extend the scale and scope of postgraduate projects; a COVID‑19 Relief fund is available for pandemic‑related impacts with detailed justification assessed case‑by‑case. Applicants must be BSG postgraduate members actively undertaking a PhD or Masters prior to thesis submission and apply online with a fully justified budget, evidence/quotes for costs, and a signed supervisor reference on headed paper. Applications must include an environmental statement addressing greenhouse‑gas emissions for travel; BSG will not fund salaries, core institutional overheads, or conference attendance, and successful awardees must acknowledge BSG/Wiley, comply with open‑access and data policies, claim funds promptly, and submit expenditure and project outcome reports (normally within one year).
