Buzas Award for Travel to the Cushman Collection

Cushman Foundation for Foraminiferal Research offers the Buzas Award for Travel, established by Dr. Martin A. Buzas, to support graduate students and professional researchers who need to visit the Cushman Collection and Smithsonian Department of Paleobiology facilities for taxonomic verification and foraminiferal research. Applicants must demonstrate the need to use the collection and submit a 1–3 page research summary (title, significance, how the Cushman Collection will be used), a detailed travel budget, a CV with contact information, and — for graduate students — a faculty advisor’s letter, emailed to cushmanfoundation@gmail.com by 1 March. Awards are up to $2,000; recipients must report progress within two years and acknowledge the Foundation in any resulting theses or publications, and the Board reserves the right to make no award or alter requested budgets.
