C. Ellen Gonter Environmental Chemistry Award for Graduate Student Research Papers

About this program

The ACS Division of Environmental Chemistry offers the C. Ellen Gonter Environmental Chemistry Awards to recognize outstanding graduate student research papers, with up to seven recipients receiving $1,000 and a one-year division membership. Awardees must present their papers at the Fall ACS National Meeting to receive the cash award. Full-time M.S. or Ph.D. students at U.S. or international universities who have completed at least one year of graduate study and remain enrolled through February 1 are eligible; the research must concern environmental chemistry and the student must be the first and major author. Nominations, including a single PDF of the paper and required applicant and advisor information, are accepted October 1–December 15; papers must follow Environmental Science & Technology formatting and not have been accepted, published, or presented elsewhere.
