CAN Trainee Advocacy & Outreach Awards

About this program

The Canadian Association for Neuroscience (CAN) funds Trainee Advocacy & Outreach Awards that provide up to CAD 1,000 to support trainee-led neuroscience outreach and advocacy activities in Canada (in-person, virtual, social media or recurring formats), and includes a letter of recognition and a feature on CAN’s website and social media. Applications are accepted at any time and reviewed quarterly (Mar 1, Jun 1, Sep 1, Dec 1); awards are made based on adherence to criteria and contingent on budget availability, and select recipients may be invited to present at the annual CAN meeting. Eligible applicants are trainees (students and postdoctoral members) affiliated with CAN and must submit an online form with affiliation and membership status, event title/date/frequency, amount requested and budget justification, objectives, target audience/outreach potential, EDI considerations, and a letter of support from a CAN regular member (max 4 MB). Awardees must acknowledge CAN as a sponsor/supporter.
