Catherine H. Beattie Fellowship in Conservation Horticulture

Garden Club of America, in partnership with the Center for Plant Conservation, offers the annual Catherine H. Beattie Fellowship in Conservation Horticulture, a research grant of up to $4,500 paid as compensation for work at a botanical garden to support conservation of rare and endangered U.S. flora. Preference is given to projects addressing the endangered flora of the Carolinas and the Southeastern United States, with selections made by CPC’s Science Advisory Council and approved by the GCA Scholarship Committee. Eligible applicants are U.S. citizens or permanent residents who are graduate students in biology, horticulture, or related fields and actively enrolled at a U.S.-based institution; completed applications must be received at the Center for Plant Conservation in Escondido, CA by January 31 preceding the period of study. Due to IRS restrictions, international applicants cannot be funded, and only one GCA scholarship, fellowship, or award may be applied for annually.
