Charles County Tree Planting

About this program

The Chesapeake Bay Trust’s Charles County Tree Planting program provides grants to increase tree cover in urban and rural areas, improve watershed health and water quality, and support community well-being. Funding typically ranges from $5,000 to under $20,000 for site preparation, native trees, planting, signage, community engagement, and two years of maintenance; matching funds are encouraged but not required. Eligible applicants include nonprofits, faith-based and community organizations, public agencies, educational institutions, landowners, and for-profit project managers such as consultants and contractors. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until annual funds are exhausted, and projects may not be required by a permit or enforcement action or produce a financial benefit.
