Charles H. Hood Foundation Child Health Research Grants

The Charles H. Hood Foundation awards Child Health Research Grants—typically five awards of $200,000 each paid over two years in two cycles annually—to support hypothesis-driven pediatric research and advance early-career investigators; the Foundation also sponsors the Hood Pediatric Innovation Hub at MIT to provide seed funding and translational support for high-impact pediatric technologies. Funded research includes clinical, basic science, public health, health services, and epidemiology projects with clear relevance to child health. Eligible applicants are early-career investigators at nonprofit academic, medical, or research institutions in New England (PhD scientists within five years and physician-scientists within seven years of employment following completion of training, including independent research positions); U.S. citizenship is not required.
