Clinical Investigator Training and Mentorship Program

About this program

The Skin of Color Society, in partnership with the National Medical Association Dermatology Section and with support from Johnson & Johnson, offers the Clinical Investigator Training and Mentorship Program to develop dermatologists’ clinical research skills and advance health equity in skin of color dermatology. Selected mentees receive online clinical trials training, in-person instruction in Baltimore, longitudinal mentorship through December 2028, and stipends for eligible travel and observership expenses. Applicants must be board-certified or board-eligible dermatologists practicing in the United States, members of SOCS or the NMA Dermatology Section, and have limited clinical-trials experience. Applicants must also have completed GCP/CITI or equivalent training and demonstrate protected time of at least one day per week or 20% of their effort for research activities; applications are due November 2, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. CT.
