Coalition of Music Organizations - American Musicological Society

About this program

American Musicological Society (AMS) has launched the Coalition of Music Organizations to pool member dues and sponsorships to provide small-grant funding, outreach support, and cooperative opportunities for small and medium-sized music organizations, publishers, programs, and cultural institutions. AMS is pledging $100,000 annually in seed grant and subvention funding, and the Coalition will offer organizational grants typically ranging from $1,000–$10,000 across five streams (general support; public outreach; early music; publications; music analysis and interpretation). Eligible applicants include small-to-medium organizations or divisions/subunits of larger institutions; an authorized organizational leader must complete the Coalition membership application (form available late June 2025), affirm nondiscrimination and conflict-of-interest policies, and pay tiered dues (starting at $475/year). Membership is required to apply to specific funding calls, which are announced to members on a rolling basis.
