The Brain & Behavior Research Foundation awards the Colvin Prize for Outstanding Achievement in Mood Disorders Research to recognize exceptional contributions to understanding and treating mood disorders; the recipient receives $50,000 and is honored at the Foundation’s International Awards Dinner in New York City each October. Established in 1993 and renamed in 2012 for benefactor Oliver D. Colvin, Jr., the prize has been adjudicated by an expert selection committee whose current members include Hilary P. Blumberg, Erika Forbes and Victoria Arango. Eligible candidates are accomplished researchers with a demonstrable record of outstanding achievement in mood disorders research, and winners are selected by the Foundation’s selection committee.
