About this program

Gilead Sciences funds Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR) to support community-led studies that improve health outcomes in priority therapeutic areas such as HIV, oncology, and liver disease. Funding is intended for community-based organizations that lead or actively participate in research to address local service gaps and quality-of-care needs. Eligible applicants—public or private—must represent community needs, have their main offices in the community, and have a governing body and staff composed predominantly of community members with community involvement in defining priorities and in research design, implementation, and evaluation. Interested organizations must follow active CBPR RFP instructions, begin by submitting a Letter of Interest (do not submit a full proposal until invited), and may use the provided proposal development toolkit for guidance.
