About this program

Conservation, Food & Health Foundation provides one- to two-year grants to fund applied research, pilot projects, training, and technical assistance that protect biodiversity, improve sustainable food production, and promote public health across Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Latin America, and the Middle East, prioritizing seed funding that builds local leadership, addresses underfunded issues, and drives systems change. Grants most commonly fall in the $25,000–$50,000 per year range (no stated minimum or maximum) and awards are made twice yearly, with second‑year funding contingent on satisfactory interim reporting. Eligible applicants include NGOs, civil society and community-based organizations, colleges and universities, and similar institutions based in the program regions, as well as organizations in upper‑income countries partnering with local groups; government agencies and religious organizations may serve as partners but are not eligible for direct funding. The Foundation excludes projects in post‑Soviet and Balkan states and generally does not fund general operating support, direct humanitarian aid, capital improvements, certain salaries, pre‑award expenses, or more than one proposal per organization per calendar year, and requires interim and final narrative and financial reports.
