Conserving wildlife and enabling communities in Namibia

The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) offers a grant-based project focused on conserving wildlife and empowering local communities in Namibia through the establishment of communal conservancies. This initiative, active since 1998, has created 86 conservancies covering over 20% of Namibia, benefiting approximately 227,802 community members and generating over $10 million annually for local conservation and development efforts. Eligible applicants are local communities in Namibia that commit to establishing and managing communal conservancies, fostering both wildlife protection and community development. There are no deadlines or cost-sharing requirements for participation.
