About this program
The Foundation for Surgical Technology administers the Constellation Awards to recognize and reward exemplary surgical technology educators (didactic or clinical) across three career stages: Rising Stars (1–5 years), Shining Stars (6–14 years), and Guiding Stars (15+ years). One educator is selected annually at each level; each award is valued at $1,000 and includes registration for the AST Educator's Conference in February plus monetary support. Applicants must be surgical technology educators who meet the specified career-stage ranges, and applications are due annually on December 1.
