Constitution Day Grants

About this program

The Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities (LEH) is offering Constitution Day Grants of up to $1,400 to support public programming that engages the origins, ideals, and legacies of the U.S. Constitution. Funded activities should occur on or around Constitution Day (September 17, 2026) and be completed by October 1, 2026; allowable costs include speaker honoraria, technical support, space rental, publicity, and audience evaluation, and projects require 1:1 cost sharing and inclusion of scholars in planning, implementation, or evaluation. Eligible applicants are humanities-based organizations operating within Louisiana’s 64 parishes—such as 501(c)(3) nonprofits, public-facing units of accredited higher-education institutions, state or local government agencies, and state- or federally recognized Native American tribal governments—and must submit EIN, UEI, and IRS determination documentation; food, entertainment, equipment purchases, creative/performing-arts productions, institutional operating support, advocacy-focused projects, and other specified costs are ineligible, and programs must present a balance of viewpoints on controversial issues.
