About this program

CURE SYNGAP1 funds laboratory-based researchers and clinicians studying SYNGAP1‑Related Disorders, with a current emphasis on clinical-trial readiness in genetics, patient behaviors, and SYNGAP1 function to accelerate disease‑modifying therapies. Awards include seed grants (up to $25,000 one‑time), trainee grants (up to $65,000/year, possible second year), investigator awards (up to $130,000/year), and variable clinical network support; the organization does not pay indirect costs. Eligible applicants are researchers and clinicians working on SRD-related projects; awardees are expected to present at CURE SYNGAP1’s Annual Science Conference and must secure IRB/IACUC approvals as relevant. Submit a one‑page LOI (PDF) to proposals@cureSYNGAP1.org during the annual Jan 1–Aug 1 LOI window; invited full proposals undergo peer review and funding decisions typically take 2–3 months.
