Damon Runyon is offering the Physician-Scientist Training Award to support early-career physician-scientists in clinical or translational cancer research, with funding beginning July 1, 2027. Applications must be submitted via Proposal Central by 4:00 PM ET on December 1, 2026, and include an applicant NIH biosketch, full bibliography, a four-page research proposal, a mentor’s training proposal (three pages; four if two mentors), an institutional Letter of Commitment, and two recommendation letters. Applicants must have institutional endorsement from the Dean/Center Director and Department Chair guaranteeing a minimum of 80% protected research time; mentors must provide a mentorship track record and may sponsor only one applicant per review session. All current/pending funding must be disclosed with confirmation of no scientific or budgetary overlap, and all letters must be uploaded by the deadline.
