Dana Frontiers — Increasing Public Engagement with Neuroscience

About this program

Dana Foundation’s Dana Frontiers program supports projects that increase multidirectional engagement between neuroscience and diverse publics, funding development of engagement tools, pilot community–research/policy collaborations, and leadership to embed community perspectives in neuroscience research and decision-making. Grants are typically for 12–18 months with most awards up to $150,000 and prioritize sustained, partnership-based activities (not one-way outreach, static deliverables, or projects that use community input only for recruitment). Eligible applicants must be U.S. tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organizations (the Foundation may consider select international proposals case-by-case); the Foundation does not fund individuals, for-profit entities, political advocacy, or—unless specified—indirect costs.
