Daniel Weetaluktuk Award (Weetaluktuk Student Prize Competition)

About this program

Administered by the Canadian Archaeological Association, the Daniel Weetaluktuk Award (Weetaluktuk Student Prize Competition) honors Daniel Weetaluktuk and supports student research in Canadian archaeology by awarding two annual prizes (one undergraduate, one graduate) of CAD 250 each; outstanding papers may be forwarded to the Canadian Journal of Archaeology for consideration. Applicants must be CAA members and either enrolled at a Canadian university or be Canadian citizens/Permanent Residents enrolled at a foreign university; co‑authored papers are eligible provided all authors meet these criteria. Submissions (English or French) must use the award nomination form, include proof of place and year of study, and comprise a single paper no longer than 20 double‑spaced pages (excluding references) in Word or PDF formatted to Canadian Journal of Archaeology guidelines; incomplete packages are ineligible and the annual deadline is June 15.
