Directed Energy Professional Society (DEPS), with grant support from the Office of Naval Research, offers Graduate Research Grants to fund U.S. full‑time graduate student research in directed energy technologies (e.g., high‑energy lasers, high‑power microwaves, pulsed lasers, CDEW), providing partial awards up to $10,000 to defray tuition, DE Student Workshop travel, and related educational expenses. Applicants must be U.S. citizens enrolled full‑time at a U.S. institution during the award term and, for initial applicants, not expect graduation before the end of the 2025–2026 academic year; neither the applicant nor their advisor may have received international/foreign funding in the past 10 years. Applications (email or mail) require official transcripts, a letter of interest, a 1–10 page research statement, and a signed advisor reference; awardees must participate in a virtual mid‑year check‑in, present or submit a project presentation, acknowledge DEPS and ONR in presentations, and complete end‑of‑year close‑out reporting.
