About this program

Dexcom’s External Research Program funds and supports diabetes-related research that uses Dexcom continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) technology, accepting investigator-initiated studies, non-profit/consortium projects, and industry-sponsored trials (including Phase 1–4 and device validation or pharmacologic research). Dexcom may provide limited scientific/technical assistance, discounted devices, or project funding depending on scope, but does not design, conduct, or supervise studies. Applicants must be the study sponsor and assume regulatory sponsor responsibilities per 21 CFR and ICH GCP—covering protocol design, regulatory compliance, device tracking, monitoring, safety reporting, and public trial registration—and obtain applicable IRB/EC/FDA approvals. Submissions are made via the Dexcom External Research web portal (SteepRock) after account setup; allow approximately 8–10 weeks for initial review.
