Disaster relief grants for veterinary professionals

About this program

American Veterinary Medical Foundation (AVMF) offers Disaster Relief Reimbursement Grants of up to $3,000 to help licensed members of the veterinary community cover immediate, out-of-pocket emergency necessities after a declared disaster (e.g., food, water, clothing, medications, toiletries, blankets, modest temporary housing); funds may not be used for dwelling or practice repairs, replacement of household/personal items, lost income, or items normally covered by insurance. Eligible applicants are licensed veterinarians, veterinary technicians, veterinary/vet tech students, or staff at a veterinary practice; prior recipients for the same disaster and AVMF/AVMA officers, directors, employees and their immediate family are ineligible. Applications must include receipts or other approved documentation, a completed application and a W-9 (W-9 and required documentation must be submitted within 30 days or payment is forfeited), must be received within six months of the disaster, and awards are limited and approved on a first-come, first-served basis with notification within 60 days.
