Diversity Engagement and Enhancement in Paleontology (DEEP) Award

The Paleontological Society's Diversity Engagement and Enhancement in Paleontology (DEEP) Award recognizes early-career professionals and students who have advanced diversity, equity, and inclusion within the global paleontology community. Two awards are given annually (one early career professional and one student), each including a $1,200 cash prize, a plaque, and a one‑year Paleontological Society membership; awards are presented at the annual Geological Society of America conference. Eligible nominees include currently enrolled undergraduate and graduate students (including those in gap years), postdoctoral scholars, and paleontologists employed in academia, industry, government, or museums who received their terminal degree within the five years prior to nomination; membership in the Paleontological Society is not required.
