Doctoral Dissertation Grants

About this program

The Government and Nonprofit (GNP) Section of the American Accounting Association offers competitive dissertation grants of up to $1,500 to support research on governmental and nonprofit topics. Funds may cover essential dissertation expenses such as data collection travel, data purchases, questionnaires, coding, and data entry, but not tuition, fees, hardware, software, or printing and binding. Applicants must be doctoral candidates in accounting at a U.S. or international doctoral-granting institution and must submit an application letter, budget, dissertation proposal, and dissertation chair’s letter by April 15.
